Fresh Windows was a proposal for the Centre de Recherche en Droit Public CRDP, a progressive institute at the University of Montreal Law School. As part of Personnel , an ongoing project about social “sustainability” in the workplace, it aims to contribute to physical and emotional comfort and stability in the work environment. If the well established goal of sustainable design is to eliminate all negative impact on the physical environment and thereby create a “green” workplace, Fresh Windows generates psychologically “green” space by endowing the researchers, graduate students and staff who use the offices at CRDP with unusually comfortable surroundings as well as an increased sense of the value and significance of their efforts.
